In Knight Frank’s recently released The Wealth Report 2019, the Gold Coast was listed as one of only five Australia hot spots in the world’s top 50 cities for prestige market performance.

Now in its 12th year, the Prime International Residential Index (PIRI 100) follows the world’s top 5 per cent of prestige property values across 100 cities. The index covers major financial centres, gateway cities and second home hotspots – both coastal and rural – as well as leading luxury ski resorts.

Ranking in at number 42, the Gold Coast was amongst an exclusive and elite list of Australian cities to feature, along with Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

An Urbis report released just prior to the PIRI 100 found the average sale price for luxury new apartments on the Gold Coast had increased by $100,000 since 2017 to now be more than $700,000.
